HERstory serves as a tribute to the unique journey, experiences, and contributions of an individual living with dementia. Each HERstory carries a rich past of memories, relationships, and accomplishments that define their identity. As dementia progresses, memories begin to fade. Preserving and sharing these narratives become invaluable in honoring the person affected and maintaining their dignity. At The Town and Country Senior Living, we believe in acknowledging and celebrating each individual’s life story. Barbara “Joan” K. lived in Pasadena, CA, for the first part of her life. Joan’s home overlooked the famous Rose Bowl. In the early 1950s, she worked for a short time at Southwestern Bell before marrying her long-time sweetheart. The couple had one son, Robert.
Joan moved back to Town and Country, MO, in 1964, where she resided until her move to a senior living community.
